Biogas is the outcome of anaerobic digestion of bio-degradable materials, and is a mixture of gases such as methane, carbon-dioxide and a very small amount of hydrogen sulphide and nitrogen. Of these, only methane is inflammable. Biogas plant is a device in which biodegradable organic matters are anaerobically digested and the gas produced is stored.
