What are the available financial schemes / assistance and who are the supporting institutes? For installation of CBP / IBP / NBPs, subsidy from Central Government as well as State Government is not available due to phased out programme by MNES/MEDA.

Potential For Installation of Night-soil-based Biogas Plants in the state of Maharashtra

The installation of night-soil-based biogas plants depends upon the population the no. of citiesand villages. Places like municipal corporations, councils, railway stations, bus stands, ashram shoals, hostels; hospitals are best-suited sites. If you considered an approximate population of 10 crores of Maharashtra, then there is a large potential for the installation of night- soil-based biogas plants. At present, an approximate 8,500 N.B.Ps. having an average capacity from 15 to 35 cum. can be installed.

Achievements

With central financial assistance (MNES) MEDA has installed 72 nos. community, 32 institutional and 344 nos. night-soil-based biogas plants and work for another 10 nos. is in progress.
