MEDA has conducted Biomass assessment studies in 39 blocks of Maharashtra to present the most accurate and realistic data about the availability of surplus agricultural biomass. The results of these studies are encouraging and we hope that this data will definitely enhance the confidence among the developers and promoters to set up biomass based power projects in the state. The study envisage information related to total quantity and type of surplus biomass generated in the taluka that can be used for power generation ,Demographic features of taluka, Village wise land classification, Biomass consumption pattern, Cropping pattern, Total land under various crops in taluka and techno economics of power generation etc.
