What is Solar Cooker ?
A solar cooker looks like a simple square aluminium suitcase, with five main components with an outer
box measuring 500 x 500 x 165 mm with three containers.

- Reasonably priced, easy-to-use and completely trouble-free, the solar cooker is an ideal supplement to the conventional cooking appliances.

Till date, around 28,000 solar cookers have been sold all over Maharashtra.
Financial Incentives .
- Market development charges from MNRE to manufacture is available
(Rs. 200/- for BIS cooker and Rs. 100/- for non BIS cooker)..
Loan Facility
- Loans are available from IREDA, New Delhi, subject to a minimum
loan of Rs.2.5 lakhs.

Solar cookers can be purchased directly from the manufacturers.
Loan for Manufacturers
- MEDA is encouraging new manufacturers, particularly from Vidarbha
and Marathwada regions of Maharashtra.
- Technical guidance is available from MEDA.
- Soft loans for up to 75% of the project cost is available from
IREDA, New Delhi, for the purchase of equipment/machinery at an
interest rate of 10.3%.
